UNIQUE PROPERTIES
Zorflex® cloth is knitted, 100% pure activated carbon cloth with interconnected fibres that enhance antimicrobial properties over other activated carbon dressings.
- Is a highly adsorbent, flexible, knitted textile which is easy to handle.
- Possesses antimicrobial properties, effectively removes all odour and restores the body’s natural transepithelial potential over the wound site.
- Uses natural properties to promote healing without any known adverse reactions.
- Is safe to use on children and pregnant women.
- Is safe for prophylactic use, on patients at risk of infection, for as long as required.
- Improves patient experience by reducing clinic visits.
- Is able to reduce pain and improve the appearance of the wound bed within 7 days.
- Direct dressing that maintains contact with the wound bed
- Microporous surface
- Non-cytotoxic, modulates proteases
- Easy to use
- Safe and risk free – no reported adverse reaction
Protease Modulation
Regulates enzymes in the wound which can promote healing
Proven Against MRSA
Significantly less MRSA is recovered from Zorflex®, compared to alternatives
Moisture Handling
Exudate transfers into the secondary dressing, which can be replaced as necessary
Conductive
Restores the body’s natural transepithelial potential across the wound bed
WOUND HEALING
Zorflex® is indicated as an antimicrobial wound contact layer for the treatment of a wide range of chronic and non-healing wounds, as well as for prophylactic use, and for use on discharging, partial and full thickness wounds.
These include:
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Surgical wounds
- Pressure sores
- Venous leg ulcers
- Fungating carcinomas
- Fungal skin infections
- Trauma wounds
- Infected graft donor and recipient sites
IN VITRO STUDY: MATRIX METALLOPROTEINASE
Elevated levels of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) can prolong inflammation and delay chronic wound healing. By reducing excess protease activity in a non-healing wound, wound healing trajectory could significantly improve.
Concentration of MMP-2 and MMP-9 remaining on the dressing following 24 hours of incubation

IN VITRO STUDY: MRSA
Elevated levels of bacterial infection, such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), can prolong inflammation and delay chronic wound healing. By reducing levels of bacteria in a non-healing wound, wound healing trajectory could significantly improve.
Quality of MRSA recovered from test dressing following 30 minutes and 24 hours of incubation.
